Waste?
Waste is a relative thing and in the eyes of the beholder. To some keeping down expenses so that they can provide employees with fair salaries and things like a retirement and 401K plan might be a goal. So some of these large expenses, like paying an accounting consultant $350,000 a year, might seem like a waste.

To others spending money on accounting systems, no matter the cost, so that they can use these systems to control the organization is worth the money. If this control allows them to decide what every department does without having to actually act as managers and make decisions is a big advantage to them and not a waste.

They obviously would not act like they do if they didn't see a benefit to it somewhere! Of course some of us suspect even management thinks it is a waste, but they are fearful of saying so. Afraid even of each other! Or afraid of being wrong! Fear fear fear.

Waste
SRF has some obligation to use the money wisely. Not a legal obligation, but when claiming to be the religion for the new age and so on they should certainly be careful when they use the money everyone sends them. Their actions reflect on Master. That is a responsibility.

The use the money for questionable stuff, no doubt. But then they try to cover that up, which creates another problem. Then they have to lie about that and the problem grows. These people tell others how to stay out of trouble but don't know themselves?

Re: Waste
I hear SRF is claiming the need to fire people is because they are low on money. What is the Accounting Project cost up to now? 15 million with no end in sight? I hear it is costing them half a million a year even with it finished. They still have high paid consultants on the job after SEVEN YEARS! For heavens sake how to you spell incompetent.

$15 million for an accounting system for a little company with about 500 people (monastics and employees). That is $30,000 for each employee. Is anyone auditing them? Oh yeah, they originally hired their auditors to build that system. Pretty smart isn't it?

Considering SRF has about 50,000 semi-active members, this accounting system has (so far) cost $300 / member. I guess that is not too bad. I hope most of them donate at least that much money.

How come we never hear about this project in the VL Appeals? How come? HOW COME????
