Equanimity
From Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone:

"He shows just as little mercy to his followers as his enemies."

I couldn't believe it when I read the book, and especially this sentence. The book describes so much of what goes on inside the organization, and this sentence sums up what I experienced as the culmination of 20 years of SRF monastic life.

Been there

Neo, for fun and "wow's" check out the last part of the latest Harry Potter book. Great stuff about the ministry of magic trying to suppress the truth in order to fight evil, while Dumbledore the wise chooses to arm the young magicians with the only real power -- the truth. Too bad SRF took the way of the ministry...Telling all those little fibs and big ones gets to be a habit and the result is a culture some of us have reluctantly found intolerable.
