RE: SRF Taking Contol of Message Board
What a bunch of sorry losers these people appear to be!

Thank God I was guided out of this organization! I thank Master so much for that. In the early days, when Lahiri Mahasaya was around, there was no organization, only a network of sincere yogis. So I feel more in tune with that spirit.

As Hitler surfaced into power, the first thing he did was massacre all who did not share his vision. That included some of his closest friends. While doing this he maintained a pervasive front of propaganda which displayed him in a favorable light. Hitler too wanted to keep the purity of his Aryan culture intact. In one sense, it could be said he was justified. After the Treaty of Versailles, the country was at the verge of extinction and nobody was able to rescue it from economic collapse and the decline of morale. So Hitler did what was expedient. Stalin also. He industrialized the Soviet Union at practically the speed of light. He just kept building and either sent people who were glitching progress to Siberia or to their deaths.

It appears to me that SRf management walks the path of the Asuras who destroy with force and revenge. The aformentioned dictators all paved the road to their own demise because the vibration of the age had change to Dwapara Yuga. Master declared this age the age of Reason, not blind obedience and totalitarian rule. What is evident in the political and ideological dimension today is a violent dismantling of the last vestiges of Kali Yuga. This is futher confirmed by the astrological placement of Saturn opposing Pluto in the heavens at 12 degrees Gemini and 12 degrees Saggitarius, respectively --- an augery which denotes the revolutionary, transformational spirit pit against rigid psychological and ideological structures.

Silence us and the very rocks and stones will cry it out. If this message board gets silenced, if we are quashed by professional rule-benders, it makes no difference. Nature abhors a vaccuum. The hydra will grow a new head somewhere else, and this will go on endlessly until all who comprise Master's family return back to the basics of good old fashioned REAL communication. Master said fools argue and wise men discuss. What then do you call someone who refuses to either argue or discuss?

With this in mind, it becomes apparent that the SRF management has crossed a line. Because of this tactic, it will further polarize the movement of SRF, alienate a growing multitude, and create a reactionary army of souls who, I imagine in 200 years, might return with Master to take care of the mess they've made. I don't mean this poetically.

And be prepared. This managment will fight to keep their precious Kali Yuga motor humming well into the dawn of a new age. And like the fanatical Muslims who want to turn back the clock on the rest of the world, so will they endeavor with a zealous mission to keep SRF entrenched in feudal management practices and 1950's style paranoia and quaint attitudes. This is either bloody war or we walk away and let them have their island to do as they will.

If prefer the latter. I predict there will be a flowering of Master's message from many splinter groups outside of SRF.
The Mata's have a notion in their heads that God and the path back to Him can be trademarked like a Disney product. But the real temple of Self Realization will be a wall-less one with only ties of spiritual fellowship binding souls together. Yes, there will be an SRF church in the future. And it will be glorious and perhaps even healthy as far as any organized religion can be, but this will be an alternative for people who need a worldly framework on their search for God. The real church of Self-Realization --- I repeat -- is a wall-less temple comprised of diverse people, many who will never set foot in a piece of prized SRF real estate. For God is not a building, He is omnipresent consciousness.

I must have lost the thread somewhere, ... are you saying SRf tried to silence this board or is it only a suspicion? And if so how can that be? Can you explain?
thanks

Shut Down
Kevin,
To my knowledge the messages here about this board being controled reflect the fear of what SRF will do, based on past experiences. Not what has already been done to these guys. Other boards, run more in the open, have been shut down. The Yogananda.net board is heavily moderated and the owner talks to SRF about what is OK. Other boards I myself have seen have been discontinued "at the request of SRF". We all know what that means. I don't know if anyone here has been contacted, but they will be.

Board...
I have looked into what could be done if SRF closes this board. The following domains are available: srfwalrus.com, srf-walrus.com, etc. etc. I’ve looked at having it hosted offshore controlled by a private trust if need be. So this board or another like it should not be a problem to keep open. I do not think we need another organization. There are enough out there. But why should a board like this exist to begin with?

I think the real issue is how can we help promote change in SRF. It is not perfect. I understand the anger and hurt. I have been there, literally. In fact, just reading this board and the messages, though some are humorous, there are many bring tears to my eyes. I mean, this is my SRF just as much as anyone else’s, right?

How can so many devotees be afraid of SRF? This just boggles the mind. How can this be? How many people are so much so that they do not even post here anonymously? It just does not make sense. Is it the fact that SRF has been involved in lawsuits and is still engaged with Ananda? (I was told in the ashram that Donald Walters betrayed Master on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. How true this is, I do not know. It just seems to me there is a lot of karma to be worked out.)

But is SRF lawsuit trigger jittery? Shoot first and ask questions later? I don’t know.

I’m wondering about the individual named Imagine who wrote about whether agitating would work. (I’m also wonder if he’s ever used a washing machine after reading his comment, too… I’ve put together a brief pop quiz for him.)

When I left the ashram and bumped into people who were still in, I was afraid to talk about anything lest they ask me what happened. I felt ashamed as if I had done something really bad. I did not make the grade, so to speak. I felt like I wasted this life. I don’t mean in the ashram, I mean I felt like I blew the opportunity to realize God. I kept asking God, telling Him that I did not want to waste this life. And He gave me this opportunity and I blew it. I could not reconcile the behavior of some people in the ashram with what I was taught while I was growing up.

I remember recently joking with my sister on the phone about some of my experiences. I told her that on numerous occasions God was giving me very obvious messages about following the behavior patterns of some of the monastics. As in not behaving that way. Br. Mitrananda said that you’d see both good examples in the ashram and bad examples. Yep. I so much wanted to conform that I would to almost anything. I joked with my sister that God had another plan for me. He was giving me messages in the sky in large golden letters that said, ‘Don’t behave like him’, ‘Don’t do this’, ‘Don’t follow him’, with a giant golden arrow pointing to the individual. Of course, when I didn’t listen, there’d be a big golden ‘DUH’ in the sky with the arrow pointing to me. (At least this is what it felt like.)

My wanting to conform forced me to look at what was really important to me. And I came to realize that although Master started SRF, Master was not SRF. A friend of mine who was recently at HV for a short time told me he had to get away from the organization. He said he felt that Master told him, “I gave you Kriya, practice it; let them play their games.”

I read about the accounting problem. A source at MW called it the peoplesoft nightmare accounting system. I would gladly come and help. But I’m a devotee, family, so I don’t know if I’m trusted. (Ok ok ok… I’, know I’m on the blacklist. Why should SRF have a blacklist?). I can pull together of team of people and help fix it. No problem.

Ever since reading this board, my prayers for SRF and all those who are suffering or have suffered are stronger. God bless us all.

Accounting problem?
What “Peoplesoft nightmare accounting system” are you going to fix? Management doesn’t think it needs fixing. I don’t know what you heard but I believe it is currently running and doing what accounting wants it to do.

The $10 million it cost was probably a shocker, but it is working (well, sort of). The system supports a company of about 500 people (SRF monks and employees) which makes the accounting system cost about $20,000 for each person working for SRF. And costs are rising month by month, about $100,000+ per month.

It is not accounting’s money, it is YOUR money. The money you send in for donations. Maybe it is time to start sending some of it to the United Way or Red Cross?
