Re: Cobra Insurance
KS makes a invalid point!

The monastics - who essentially work for no pay, do not have the extra funds available to employees who may choose & pay for their own plan upgrades.
One should also bear in mind that these employees are not going in blind, they usually know what they are getting and have accepted it. We are all free to work where we choose.
I greatly appreciate the services which all these employees give. I know some of them who could earn a lot more cash elswhere - that is obviously not their main interest in life.

I know one guy who said if he is Hired by SRF, that he would return all his wages as a donation. [as he is on another pension from previous projects]. To each is own!

So they should not be treated the same? NO.

They are in an entirely different situation, that difference surely requires a different approach.

This whole matter has nothing to do with their opinions of one being more important than the other.

As for persons who have managed reteats and not done so well. Either the managers or someone at the org should be checking all this out more carefully before beginning such a relationship. Getting all your facts clear before trying a project like this. Worng person in wrong place do not work!

Re: Cobra Insurance
What point of mine didn’t you agree with A7? Do you really think the monastics are somehow different than the employees? They get free room and board, free access to cars and food, clothes, and so on.

In Master’s eyes to you think they are providing a different service or Master thinks more of the monastics?

This again points to the fact that you have not lived there and seen how the place really operates. You have read the AY and like most people that do assume that SRF is a place right out of the mystical wonderful world of spirit.

I think you belong on the Yogananda.net board.

(P.S. if you are really just the Walrus people trying to stir up discussions I apologize. Keep up the good work.)

Dear K S

At the risk of repeating myself!
The main idea of yours that I disagee with is the idea that the monastices who work for no pay [in lieu of food and room etc -which is only a fraction the remuneration paid to cash paid staff], should be treated the same on the insurance, pension and other areas.

The fact that monastics do get a better deal on some few items makes it a little more fair for all.
This is fair treatment, part of the workers at SRF-MC get this, and others workers get that.

Treating all the same way is not treating them equally.

Yogananda would consider this very compassionate and well managed at the Self-realization Fellowship MC.

One does not have to live there to understand that simple point.

I know people who lived in LA half their lives and still don't know where downtown is. Also, your assumption where I have and haven't lived is a strange guessing game.

Although I have posted on other boards , your assumption that I "belong" to anyboard is strange and misplaced.

I do not participate for the purpose of stirring anything up, just to share other points of view, & see what I can learn, which you will I hope find refreshing. This is how we all learn and grow!

Your logic on this threads topic escapes me, unless you are writing just to stir feelings against Yogananda's work.

you take a bold step
astral 7,

can we submit some questions to you so that you can channel yogananda for us?

since you clearly state the following:

Quote:
Yogananda would consider this very compassionate and well managed at the Self-realization Fellowship MC.

you may be of valuable help to us

__________

better yet, since you are in touch with yogananda, apparently you are a mouthpiece for him, ask him if he will take questions directly from us instead of through you, and ask yogananda if he will be so kind to write directly back to us on this board, without using you as a middleman

Re: you take a bold step
No channeling involved, never play with that stuff.

Here - I hope my opinion is as valid as yours.

Basically my statement on this thread are saying;

Does treating all persons the same way mean you
are treating them fairly? Do you just have one fixed,
blanket rule for all situations no matter what?

So what do you think?

With all due respect, astral7, even though I respect your right to be here and offer your "two cents," I don't believe your purpose is to LEARN anything from anyone ("see what I can learn") and thereby experience growth. You are simply rehashing SRF propaganda and presenting all their comforting myths in order to discourage any questioning or independent thinking. You are trying to correct all the mistaken notions you have encountered here, as your idea of loyalty demands.
