Members will always stay
A friend of mine told me of a meeting she had with Ananda Mata about 10 years ago. At the time many women were working for SRF at or near the poverty level, with no money for cars, medical insurance or medical care, and living above garages. My friend asked Ananda Mata about possibly giving the members a raise so they could better cope with things. Ananda Mata said, “Oh, we don’t have to do that. The members will always stay.”

Some reading this might think this is a great compliment for the members. They are willing to make sacrifices and help the wonderful work of SRF. But others might it see it as part of the general pattern of treatment of the employees.

It is true that the employees have now received a basic medical insurance plan. But this only happened after an employee had a heart attack on the job and management feared criticism and legal action (that FEAR word again). It is also true that management recently reviewed salaries, but this was only after the paying excessive salaries to certain “privileged” positions became general knowledge. And then they didn’t change the compensation model much, if at all.

No, what Ananda Mata’s comment meant was that the members could be controlled. And they should feel it is a privilege to serve them. It also showed a real lack of compassion and understanding for the lives of these employees. SRF has always had a lot of money; the sacrifice of these members didn’t need to be this extreme.

Core
This speaks to the core of the personality disorder some of the bad ladies have.

Everyone
Everyone should read this one and ask themselves what it means. I also heard this story from the person in it, probably the same person (unless Ananda Mata says this to a lot of people) To me, like Crog, I think it speaks to the core of the problem. And you don't get much higher up than Ananda Mata.
