RE: Positively Excellent
Simple...

Brother Bhaktananda.

I've yet to be steered wrong by him, and he is compassionate, caring and loving. He's also very point blank about certain things and will be stern when it's necessary... but the love is always first and foremost.

He's also (in my humble opinion) a true saint, and we should take advantage of his wisdom while we still have him around in body.

And the varying threads I've seen here? Most appear to be gossip... right or wrong or somewhere in between, still gossip -- for gossip, by definition, need not be false:

(1) Rumor or talk of a personal, sensational, or intimate nature.

(2) A person who habitually spreads intimate or private rumors or facts.

(3) Trivial, chatty talk or writing.

Go into meditation, delve deeply and ask God what your road should be. Tune in and you'll get your answers. All the rest from anyone here or elsewhere doesn't compare one iota to your own personal meditative experiences.

It's not hiding or refuting or whatever... simply that no one individual has the entire picture. No one person is going to be privy to ALL aspects of the running of an organisation -- whether it is of a religious or a secular nature.

Warning
Actually, my translation of Hatha Yoga Pradapika recommends cutting the frenum. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. There are arteries and nerves that serve the tongue there. Don't do it that way. It would be a VERY BAD IDEA.

Khechari
There is detailed information about Khechari in the Yogakundali-Upanishad. The Upanishads are part of the Vedas. The Vedas are the Hindu scriptures. I am typing in the Yogakundali-Upanishad (it is in the section called non SRF teachings.) Khechari is discussed on pages 7 to 10. Check the site in a few days, and maybe it will be there.

About the frenum
chrisparis, I heard a story about a devotee living at Mt. Washington who cut his frenum in order to facilitate khechari mudra. I think his name was (of all things) Daniel Boone. Master was very angry at him for doing so. He encouraged people to try the "milking the tongue" method instead.

"He who hath ears to hear, etc."

I can imagine Sri Yukteswarji saying something like "the path of kriya is singular enough without devotees ending up with tongues like dogs." Nothing against dogs, of course. :)

Kechari Mudra and cutting the frenum
There is a story passed down to us of a sadhu disciple of Lahiri Mahashay who went against the instructions of Yogiraj not to cut the tongue in order to facilitate Kechari mudra, which in the original Kriya as taught by him was the pre-requisite on attaining the necessary qualification to receive the second Kriya initiation. This man disobeyed his guru and when he presented himself before Yogiraj for a darshan the guru turned to another devotee close by and said, "Tell him to go away. I will not see him. I cannot so much as look at him."

Re: Kechari Mudra and cutting the frenum
If this was a requirement for second kriya, then obviously the second kriya they are talking about is different than the SRf second kriya
