Re: San Diego Ammachi Satsang
I have reliable information about Ammachi and her organization that makes SRF look angelic by comparison. Anyone interested can private message me. If there is enough interest, I will post it.

Re: San Diego Ammachi Satsang
I'd be interested in hearing about this if it is more than just rumors. From what I know a lot of SRFers/ex-SRFers are into Ammachi. It would be sad if they found themselves in a similar or worse situation then where they were before.

There has to be a lesson in all of this...

Yes, defintely more than rumors. I'll get the info together and post it in a day or so. Yes, there is a lesson to all this. I'll give my opinion on that too, for whatever it's worth.

Guests and All,

One of my lessons has been to ask more about Swami Jnanananda, and learn more about him!

Please share! He is a disciple of Swami Atmananda, is that correct? Is he in India?

Thank you Borg. It is nice to read about people carrying on the tradition outside of organizations, etc.

By the way, are you from India? Do you live there presently?

Re: Swami Jnanananda
Ringbearer7,

I've spent considerable time in India, but am in the US presently. I hope to return to India in the not too distant future and finish out the rest of my life there, God willing. I think some of us who have never been all that comfortable with SRF have many lives behind us in India. It was only after I spent some time there did I begin to see this. As you know, the hindoo culture is naturally warm, open, accepting and non-organizational. SRF seems to attract those with the opposite orientation. I am convinced that most SRF monastics are reincarnated medieval christian monks and nuns. In fact, one monk who could sometimes see past lives refered to a senior monk as "the bishop".

Re: it's more than rumors
Borg,

Would you please send me the information about Ammachi which you refer to? I've read her biography and came away impressed, both as to her ability to withstand the very cruel treatment afforded her by her family while she lived with them, as well as her highly developed spirituality.

I've heard that the hospital she started was supposed to totally free but isn't.

On a personal note I once phoned her ashram in Northern California inquiring about her Southern California appearances and was very surprised at the quite rude, disinterested, bad attitude person who I spoke with, thinking afterward that surely this person must have been having a bad day or whatever, but thinking also that maybe they should re-think having her as their phone person.

I've never made the trek to have the hug, although for many years I've wanted to.

Anyway again, and thanks:

kailashguy@yahoo.com

Shanti

Lobo,

There has been enough interest in the topic that I will post something about it within the next few days when I get time to compose it. The story could go on for many, many pages, so it will be a challenge to keep it within reasonable limits.

Sorry it's taken me awhile to post the info. I had trouble deciding how much to say. I could have written much more. You can read it now under Amma, Inc.
