Mr. Heady spells it out
Any time I post something heady, nobody answers except myself. So rather than talk to myself, I'm going to make it real simple and ask everybody a question:

In what ways do you feel SRF has taken hostage of your mind and feelings, disabling or disrupting you from thinking, feeling and living authentically?

P.S. If this is something you already overcame but found to be true in your past, you may still want to answer. Then read: pub78.ezboard.com/fsrfwal...D=63.topic

Yes, Raja, you have written some very heady things. I have appreciated them and have responded as such. What I am trying to figure out is, where are you going with all of this? What can you possibly do that would change conditions as they are? I think that what is in the minds of most, who are posting, is a strong hope that what they say will help others to realize the stench that emits from SRF.

You ask that we get down to particulars and I think most ex-monastics have said about all they can without giving their identity away. We all signed papers that would make us prime targets for the legal department. We are trying to get our lives in some semblance of order, get employment, etc. The last thing any of us needs is to be slapped with a law suit that would totally wipe us out (and don't think for one moment that they wouldn't do it). Many of us have, only recently, been able to quit crying all night. Please understand how difficult it is to establish a normal life. And, I might add, freeing oneself from all the brainwashing is something that you can't even imagine. SRF gave us nothing to survive on and many of us are just not in, what you could call, prime employment age.

So many examples have been shared on this board. I expect many more will be. This board has been quite a great help for us to feel support and understanding. That is a more valuable item than you can imagine. You have helped immensely, as well. I offer my thanks for your contributions.

What I hear you saying is that, in the minds of most who are posting, there is a strong hope to get people to realize there is a dead rat odor emitting from SRF. Well and good. I'll leave it to you and whomever to educate the people's noses. But a couple of us feel its time to prowl behind the wallboards, find the stinking rat, remove it, and give the air a good dose of Lysol spraying.

Don't think the ex-monastics are the only ones who have painfully struggled to free themselves of brainwashing and lead a normal life. We too have cried, contemplated ending our lives, and found ourselves emancipated when past the prime of our lives. This is a bitter mess for us all. In my opinion, the more we understand this problem from every angle possible, the stronger we'll become.

Friendfully Yours
RB

Well taken, RB. I will, henceforth, help all that I can. I really have a great desire to ferret out the rat.

I appreciate what you are trying to do. Hopefully, you will be able to get behind those walls. I will consider what you have to say. I wish you well.

Stinking Rat
I love it! “Find the stinking rat, remove it, and give the air a good dose of Lysol spraying.” Are you a writer?

I feel I would benefit from a real exploration of the problem myself. Stripping away the layers and understanding SRF for what it is may help me and help others that are finding their way out of the haze. This is in a way much like introspection. Evaluating the environment we all live or lived in. Exploring how it got that way, the tools it uses to support itself, and what if anything can be done to alter it. Once we understand it, the battle is won.

The new section on “core issues” seems good for that. Thanks Walrus for that section. I’ll see you guys over there.
