Licking one's wounds ..
... is meritorious and, in many cases, necessary to maintain a psychological balance after some sort of "strain".
I would regret, however, if this message board - whose high level I appreciate - would focus merely on that. Honestly, I think that whoever was a monastic or in other ways a deeply involved SRF member must have so much more things to tell - positive things about Self-Realization itself; stories about Master or enlightened disciples (after all, there must be SOME); about your own first spiritual experiences, if any; etc etc. The few postings with remembrances of Master were most beautiful.
So, although some postings refer to those experiences, I wish there were more of it. I am a true 'outsider' - although I lived some time in LA and visited ashrams and services - and, to my own judgment, certainly a 'spiritual greenhorn'.
I would very much appreciate if anyone could give me his own experiences on the path. Thanks.

Trying to turn this into yogananda.net
You criticized yogananda.net severely just a few days ago, and now you are trying to turn this board into another yogananda.net. Who can understand you...

Yogananda.net is shallow, SRF-monitored talk. I prefer the real stuff. Like the stories about Br. Bernard

I can understand your wish to read inspiring stories of Master, etc. So try in turn to understand that this board serves the need for those whose inspiration has turned to dust (temporarily one hopes!) through close contact with SRF. It is a natural human need for those who have been painfully damaged to discuss their experiences -- to make sense of them, to somehow reconcile them with some positive force in their lives.

Let us do what we need to do. No doubt you would not trade places with us if you could feel what is in our hearts. It is called pain and it must be eased. This board helps us. What many call carping and whining helps us. Suddenly walking in on the emperor and finding him without clothes is traumatic.

P.S.
RB, why don't you ask the Walrus for a separate section for the kind of stories you want? Or perhaps you would like to start another board for your needs. No doubt many would also enjoy this.

Re: P.S.
I get the point. And, yes, there already is a section for remembrances of our Guru (for I gather PY still is your Guru).
I am aware that there is a good deal of pain involved. On the other hand, my impression was always that the ones who were apparently "whining" (your words, quoted from somewhere else; certainly not mine) also have a tremendous and obvious potential to face their experiences with a clear mind, and that ALL of them still love Yogananda. Few are the posts that deflect their criticism of SRF to the Guru.
And this potential goes hand in hand with the most beautiful remembrances of what Master Really stands for. That's probably the beauty in it. The good old Greecians called that Katharrsis. I don't know if that's the rite spalling in Inglisch.

little addenda
I feel compelled to add a little extra. If you are an SRF monastic, you are a disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. This fact alone gives you strength. You are not alone, but guided and protected by a divine link. Outside that divine relationship, everything, INCLUDING SRF, is Maya. Even an advanced soul like Gyanamata suffered (in her case, from illness), wearing out karma.
Maybe this would be a helpful approach to regaining strength and conviction on the path. That it's a disappointment - sure, likely so. To go on suffering - that is surely not intended by the divine ones that guide us through our lives.
